Recently, Foxconn has been on the news, not for the Apple products they produce, but rather for their suicide rate. Now, it seems as if Foxconn and Apple are eager to make the workers of Shenzhen a little happier. Foxconn employees are now getting a 30% raise. This will bring their monthly income from about $131.77 to $171.30.

Also, it is being rumored that Steve Jobs will give 1%-2% of Apple products sales manufactured at Foxconn to the workers who built them. The profit-sharing will supposedly start with the iPad. This doesn’t seem like much, but at 1%, that’s equivalent to several million dollars, seeing as the iPad has sold over 2 million units.

Well, good job Foxconn and Apple. [via NY Times]
